Pittwater council in New South Wales, Australia, has a flag which is presented here.
The flag story:
"In 1990 when vexillographer, John Vaughan, heard of the possible secession of Pittwater from Warringah he designed a flag. The flag had a golden streak to represent the peninisula coastline and a blue background to highlight Pittwater. The main feature on the flag was a cabbage tree palm.
The present version features the Pittwater council logo. John says that the yellow pennant, from the hoist to the fly, like a burgee, is a reminder of the importance of sailing and motorboat clubs in the area. The colours of blue and gold are emblematic of the water and beaches. The yellow triangle symbolises the land flanked to the east by Tasman Sea and to the west by Pittwater."
Valentin Poposki, 25 March 2006
Pittwater (with Manly and Warringah) is now part of the Northern Beaches
Council.
