Presentation of Visoko

Visoko is dominated by the old town, historically named Visoki, which was the center of the medieval Bosnian Kingdom; various Bosnian rulers had seats in it or neighbouring forts. There was also the seat of the Autochtonous Bosnian Church as well as the coronation site of the Bosnian Kings and the Royal necropolos (in Mile, today Arnautovići). In the 15th century there was also a Franciscan monastery.
The modern town of Visoko developed during the Ottoman period, when leather industry started to develop, being the core of later industrialization.

The coat of arms is "Vert a castle embattled argent ensigned with a crown flory or and in base a mullet of eight gules between five stripes (2 and 3) azure couped forming a chevron inverted embowed".
The castle symbolically represents several medieval sites where the seats of the Bosnian Kingdom were, the latter shown by the crown. The blue stripes are forming a letter "V", for Visoko.
