Bangladeshi LGBT flag was designed in 2010 by Shaikh Mohammad Mominul
Islam, alias John Ashley Moon, LGBT activist from Bangladesh.
The design was derived from the Gay Pride/Rainbow Flag.
by adding a green triangle at the hoist, charged with a red disc (the national flag pattern). The flag employs two shades of green, darker for the triangle and
lighter for the rainbow stripe. The shades of red used for the disc
and the rainbow stripe also differ, the latter being originally
somewhat darker. The design has had a limited online use, such as the
emblem of the (apparently long defunct) Gay Bangla online community
[3], but the only example of its use in real life was by the
Bangladeshi diaspora at the London Pride 2017. The real-life
flag has differed from the original design in a number of features:
mirrored design (triangle based at the fly), less oblong shape of both
the flag and the triangle, lighter color shades of all rainbow stripes
and much darker shade of the disc, which was visibly darker than the
rainbow stripe there (shade of the triangle seems to have remained
approximately the same).
