In yellow a black falcon flying.
The black falcon, as a symbol of rulership, refers to the various rulers who have called the shots in
Sommeri over the course of time. The colours, on the other hand, refer to the Abbey of St. Gallen.
Sommeri was created by the merger of Niedersommeri and Obersommeri in 1967.ü>
In black a yellow falcon flying.
The falcon in the colours of the St. Gallen monastery is a symbol of the
former rule when the abbot claimed a hunting falcon when visiting.
In yellow two black croziers crossed.
The emblem expresses in an eloquent way that the secular
and the ecclesiastical history of the commune crossed. The church, originally under
St. Gallic rule, came to the cathedral chapter of Constance in 1400,
the bailiwick, on the other hand, changed in 1472 from the bishop of Constance to the
abbey of St. Gallen.
