Art. 20.- Vessels of the Captaincies of the Port on official business will use a white pennant with red edges (orillas), one meter fly by 33 cm hoist, with a red letter "C" on the center. The size of each letter will be one-third of the hoist.
Joe McMillan, 10 December 2002
(quoting and translating from Seaports regulation)
I suppose the "C" stands for "capitanía."

1913 Enciclopaedya Hispano Americana and Flaggenbuch 1939 [neu39] show in 2:3. Perhaps the proportions were changed between 1913 and 1941.
Jaume Ollé, 7 February 2004
In the 1926 Flaggenbuch [d9e26], a white triangular pennant with red outer edges and a letter "C." Ratio ca. 2:3 (unlike the much longer variants used today — possibly these are mispictured here).

Art. 20.- Vessels … of the health authorities will use a white pennant of the same dimensions with yellow edges and a yellow letter "S."
Joe McMillan, 10 December 2002
(quoting and translating from Seaports regulation)
I suppose the "S" stands for "salud" or "sanidad."

Triangular pennant vertically divided into blue-white-red with a white five-pointed star in the blue field. Ratio ca. 1:3. As far as I know, this pennant does not come anywhere else except for Flaggenbuch 1926 [d9e26].

Art. 20.- Vessels … of pilots (prácticos) will use a blue pennant of the same dimensions with a white "P" on the center.
Joe McMillan, 10 December 2002
(quoting and translating from Seaports regulation)
I suppose the "P" stands for "práctico" or "piloto."
António Martins, 1 May 2004
This flag also show in Flaggenbuch 1939 [neu39] in 2:3.
Jaume Ollé, 7 February 2004
In the end of Flaggenbuch 1926 [d9e26] there are two more Chilean flags among the pilot signals.

Art. 20.- Vessels … carrying mail will use a white pennant of the same dimensions with the word "CORREO" in red letters.
Joe McMillan, 10 December 2002

"Correo" means "courier" or, better said, "mail."

Almost the same flag is described as naval jack, but in ratio 1:1. The question is — are this two one and the same, the image being somewhat distorted, or is there really a special flag for Chile to be used on private yachts?
Željko Heimer, 1 December 1999
Art. 24.- The owners of all vessels should register their distinctive marks at the Captaincy of the Port, which will maintain a publicly accessible register of them.
Joe McMillan, 10 December 2002
(quoting and translating from Seaports regulation)
Art. 21.- Tenders and motor launches belonging to various shipping companies established in the country and those used in their service in the ports of the Republic should carry as a distinctive mark a square (cuadrada) flag, of a size appropriate to the boat, with the initials of the company. This obligation also applies to the boats of rowing clubs and other sporting societies.
Joe McMillan, 10 December 2002
(quoting and translating from Seaports regulation)
Art. 22.- Fishing vessels should carry a white pennant 2.2 meters fly by .90 cm [sic — obviously 90 cm] hoist with a blue .15 cm [probably 15 cm?] border (guarda), and with their registry number in black on the center.
Joe McMillan, 10 December 2002
(quoting and translating from Seaports regulation)
Art. 23.- Boats of shipping agents and other commercial houses should carry as a distinctive mark a pennant of any color, of size appropriate to the boat, with the initials of the commercial firm.
