Translated from municipal
web site:
"The flag is made of three equal stripes, green, white and
red. The the green stripe charged with a sun represents the
natural resources of our village, red represents the blood shed
by our ancestors the Malibú Indians."
The meaning of white is not given; on the municipal shield, white
represents the agricultural production.
The Malibú Indians are famous for their ceramic flutes (XIIIth
centuries). According to Pr. Gerardo Reichel Dolmatoff at <www.lablaa.org>,
the Malibú lived from maize and yucca grown in family gardens.
