Translated from municipal
web site:
"The flag is made of two horizontal stripes, green and
white, cut by a golden yellow lozenge, located in the middle of
the flag and dividing it in four equal parts representing each a
rural hamlet ("vereda"), the lozenge representing the
capital of the municipality and being charged wuth a cypress
representing consistency and roots of its inhabitants."
The municipal coat of arms, adopted at the same time as the flag,
is made of a shield-shaped version of the flag, with a blue
border bearing in base two wheat ears. A yellow scroll bearing
the name of the municipality on black capital letters is placed
under the shield. The border is described as "deep celeste
blue", representing albedo that allows to admire the
richness under daylight. Wheat is a main crop in the
municipality.
