Overview

The flag of the canton of La Union (Cartago province, Costa Rica), can be seen at <www.munilaunion.go.cr>.
According to the website, it was declared official on 7. December 1993. It was proposed by Diego Armando Gonzalez Miranda, a nine-year-old  pupil at the Escuela Central de Tres Ríos.
The flag is green and red with a white circle at the junction of the colors, on which are eight stars representing each district of the canton and the official coat-of-arms of La Union.
