Diedorf Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Gules a demi wheel Or couped per pale and bladed Argent, at sinister Argent a heraldic rose Gules seeded Or and stemmed Gules, in base a fess wavy, parted per pale of Argent and Azure.
Meaning:
Diedorf was established in 1978 by a merger of the independent municipalities of Anhausen, Biburg, Hausen, Willishausen and Diedorf proper. The wheel is an attribute of St. Catherine. It is alluding to the Dominican St. Katharina Nunnery in Augsburg, a former manorial lord. The village was acquired by the nunnery in 1264 from Imperial Marshal Heinrich of Pappenheim, a successor of the extincted Diedorf kin. The nunnery also gained the local bailiwick. The rose is taken from the municipal arms of Willishausen and is also alluding to the Chamberlains of Wellenburg in service of the Bishopric of Augsburg. The fess wavy is representing the little Schmutter River. Red and white had been the tinctures of the bishopric.
