Meaning:
The leaf of oak (German: Eiche) is a canting element. The dexter side displays the arms of the Lords of Ebersberg in counterchanged colours.
The arms were approved on 14 July 1969 by Minister of Interior of Hesse.

Shield parted by a bend sinister of alternating red and white pieces, above a lion's head barry of five of Argent and Gules, flanked by a fleur-de-lis Argent in sinister chief, beneath lozengy of Argent and Azure.
Meaning:
The arms combine a modification of the arms of Hesse with the lozenges from the Bavarian arms.
The arms were approved on 28 June 1966
