Shield parted per pale of Argent and Vert with embattled base in counterchanged tinctures, at dexter a fir Vert, at sinister a tub Argent.
Meaning:
Duke Friedrich III of Sachsen-Gotha-Altenburg (1699 - 1772) bought a metallurgical plant for the refinement of copper in 1752. The settlement for the workers was named Luisenthal in 1753, in order to honour his consort Luise Dorothée of Sachsen-Gotha-Altenburg (1710-1767). The oldest part of the municipality had been Schwarzwald (= black forest), which had been already mentioned in 919. In the 17th century Stutzhaus, a settlement for lumbermen, was established. The tub (German: Stutz) is representing Stutzhaus, base and fir are representing Schwarzwald.
