Shield parted per pale, at dexter Or a demi-eagle Sable armed and tongued Gules and couped per pale, at sinister Gules a sinister facing lion ramoant Argent armed Or and tongued Azure.
Meaning:
The arms are a combination of the demi-eagle taken from the arms of the city of Goslar and the lion of the Schladen kin. The latter played a major role in the local history between 1110 and 1362.

The flag was approved on 2 March 1977. The arms were approved on 8 August 1931.
