Shield parted per fess; above parted per pale; at dexter Sable a sinister facing lion rampant Or, armed, tongued and crowned Gules; at sinister barry-bendy (lozengy) of Argent and Azure; beneath Gules with base wavy Azure and an impending initial "H" Argent.
Meaning:
The current arms are based on the oldest court seal from 1555. Lion and lozenges ar referring to the sovereignty of the Palatine Counts of the Wittelsbach kin. Initial and base wavy are canting elements. The pattern was modified sometimes by an additional horsehoe or without initial and two horseshoes forming an "H" instead.
