Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess embattled into Argent over Gules, the field Gules is charged with a pair of keys Or crossed per saltire.
Meaning:
The wall is alluding to the fact that the village developed within the walls of a Roman fortified castle. In the 10th century the village and surroundings were a possession of the St. Peter chapter of Mainz, hence the two crossed keys, the symbol of St. Peter. The colours are those of the Archbishopric of Mainz, to which the village belonged from the 10th century until 1803.
The arms were designed and approved in 1950.
