It is a blue-white horizontal bicolour with centred arms.
Jörg Majewski, 26 Dec 2007
Shield Azure, a lion rampant Argent, crowned and armed Or, tongued Gules, over a bar wavy Argent in base.
Meaning:
The arms display the lion of the Counts of Everstein, who ruled the area and founded the city of Holzminden in the 14th century. Their lion also appears in the arms of Hameln-Pyrmont County. Some parts of the county belonged to the Lords of Homburg until 1409. From the end of the 13th century the Dukes of Braunschweig gradually acquired the whole county, but their arms (also a lion) were not included into the arms. The wavy bar is symbolising the Weser River.
