Shield chapé embowed, above at dexter Or a lion rampant guardant sinister facing Gules armed and tongued Azure, above at sinister Azure a lion rampant Or armed and tongued Gules, beneath in centre Argent (with damascenes not being part of the blazon).
Meaning:
The two lions in the arms are the red lion of Katzenelnbogen and the golden lion of Nassau. Frickhofen had been a dominion of the Counts of Katzenelnbogen (1367-1408) afterwards of the Counts of Nassau. Former seals displayed an angel holding two shields, each with one of the lions.
The arms were approved on 11 October 1965 to former Frickhofen municipality, which had been incorporated on 1 February 1971 into Dornburg, and are based on the oldest known seal of the town, which dates from the 15th century, but the angel was abolished. The symbols of Frickhoven were overtaken by Dornburg in 1972.
