Bobenheim-Roxheim Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Sable a key Argent in bend surrounded by eight Greek crosslets Or, beneath Azure a sinister facing pike najant Azure.
Meaning:
The oldest local court seal from 1507 displayed St. Mary Magdalen, the local patron saint. Seals since the 17th century displayed St. Mary sitting on a throne. In 1705 the Bishopric of Worms gained complete control over the so called Rhine villages. A new seal was made, displaying the current pattern. The key is an attribute of St. Peter, patron saint of the bishopric. Each crosslet is represnting one of those villages, whose inhabitants could withdraw into the city walls of Worms in case of riots. The pike is symbolising fishing on the Rhine. Klemens Stadler displayed the fish with red fins. To the seal also belonged St. Mary Magdalen as supporter of the shield. A probably plain bicolour according to Klemens Stadler already existed before 1984.
