Shield Gules, a spur wheel Or with shackle.
Meaning:
Origin and meaning of the arms are not known. The symbol appeared for the first time in 1725 on the boundary stones of the village. In the 19th century the symbol appeared also in local seals. In the current arms the symbol was slightly changed and referred to as a spur wheel. The spur perhaps had been before an imperial orb, used as a symbol for the status of a Free Imperial Village (Reichsdorf).
The arms were approved in 1953 by Minister of Interior of Hesse.
