Dietmannsried Coat of Arms

Shield parted per chevron embowed, beneath Argent a heart Gules lying on a mount Vert, above parted per pale, at dexter Gules a sinister facing dove Argent, at sinister Azure a rooster Or armed Gules.
Meaning:
A local seal from 1820 displayed a fir between dove and rooster. A description from 1835 mentioned also heart and mount. The basic tinctures are those of the Princely Abbey of Kempten, the former local ruler. The abbots made Dietmannsried the capital of the Northern County of Kempten. The abbots caused that King Rudolf II granted the rights of a market town in 1586, against the resistance of the Imperial Cities of Kempten, Leutkirch and Memmingen. The rooster is taken from the family arms of the Vorner kin, who ruled the Lordship of Überbach as vassals of Kempten Abbey. The kin died out in 1592 and since 1594 the village was under direct rule of the abbey. The dove is taken from the arms of the Laufner family, who resided in Kempten and ruled Dietmannsried (no time frame given). The fir on the first seal was punning to the name of the Vorner kin. The heart is a mere allegory of the Biedermeier Era (1815 - 1848 exclusively in Germany).
