Shield parted per pale, at dexter Vert, a fish haurient embowed Argent, at sinister Argent a demi-linden Vert couped per pale.
Meaning:
Immenstadt gained city rights in 1463 according to the version of Lindau. A local seal with prints from 1475 and a lattice from 1640 on the city hall already displayed the current pattern. From the 18th century until 1915 the shield was crested by a canting beehive (German: Imme is another name for a bee). The motto "Immen, Fisch und Linden sind allhie zu finden" (Bees, fish and linden can always be found here) probably was created at the same time. The demi-linden is a differentiation of the arms of Lindau City. The fish are symbolising former riches of fish.
