Meaning:
Sulzberg Castle was first mentioned in 1176. Between 1176 and 1360 the Cupbearers of Sulzberg ruled the village as vassals of the Abbots of Kempten. Although being a market town since the 17th century, the town had no proper seals. The arms are based on the family arms of the cupbearers.
