Description of flag:
The ratio is 3:5. It is a white flag. One red stripe is on the top edge, another on the bottom edge. The coat of arms is in the white stripe and shifted to the hoist.
Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per fess into red over blue. Above is a golden (= yellow) abbot's crozier flanked by two ears of grain of the same colour. Below is silver (= white) carp.
Meaning:
In 1186 the Cistercian monastery of "Reynevelde" was established. Its name was transferred to the nearby village later on. Agriculture and fish breeding in the past had been promoted by the Cistercian monks. This is symbolized by grain and carp. The number of grains is alluding to the incorporation of Neuhof and Steinhof in 1925. The crozier is symbolizing the rule of the Cistercians for about 400 years. Reinfeld gained the title of a market town in 1840 and of a city in 1926.
