It is a green-white-green vertical triband with ratio of stripes approx. 1:3:1. The coat of arms is in the middle of the white stripe.

Shield Argent, a birch proper issuant from a triplemount Or on a base wavy Azure.
Meaning:
Half of the municipal area is foretal, symbolised by the birch. The base wavy is representing Briese River and the local lakes Boddensee, Briesesee and Mönchsee. The triplemount. The yellow colour of the tiplemount is alluding to the sandy soil.
