Description of flag:
The ratio is 3:5. The hoist side displays the coat of arms without shield. The flyend is horizontally divided into nine alternating black and yellow stripes.

Description of coat of arms:
In the golden shield is a black wheel with six spokes. The chief is divided by a green, horizontal crancelin, called rues' wreath (German: Rautenkranz)
Meaning:
The crancelin and the colours gold (= yellow) and black are taken form the arms of the Dukes of Saxe-Lauenburg from the Askanian kin, rulers until 1689. The wheel is representing rural life in the past, trading and traffic alongside the street from Hamburg to Lüback, the nowadays federal road B207 and the changes of life in modern times. The diadem originally had been a wreath of intertwined rues (German: Raute; Latin: Ruta).
