Saarlouis County Coat of Arms

Shield Or, a bend Gules charged with three eaglets Argent, beneath right an 8-point star Azure, above left a fleur-de-lis Azure, chief quartered of Sable and Argent.
Meaning:
The chief displays the family arms of the Hohenzollern kin, who ruled the region from 1816 to 1919. Bend and eaglets are symbolising that the area belonged to Lothringen between 1100 and 1766 and is alluding to the fact that Wallerfangen had been capital of the Lorraine Baillage d' Allemagne (Lothringian Bailiwick of Germany). Fleu-de-lis and star are referring to Saarlouis city, the former to the Bourbon kin, the latter to the star shaped French baroque era fortress.

The arms were approved on 1 February 1966. Flag and banner were never approved officially.
