Werbach Municipal Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per fess into silver over celestial blue. Above is a red demi-wheel issuant. Below are two silver (= white) heraldic roses ordered per fess.
Meaning:
The settlement cores of Brunntal, Werbach and Werbachhausen had belonged to the Archbishopric and Electorate of Mainz. They are represented by the demi-wheel. The settlement cores of Niklashausen and Wenkheim had been a possesssion of the Counts of Wertheim. They are represented by the two roses, taken from the arms of the counts. The settlement core of Gamburg had been a condominium of Mainz and Wertheim. Due to heraldic rules the tinctures of the upper half had to be inverted.

Banner and coat of arms were approved on 4 May 1979 by the county administration, published in GABl 254/1980. Ottmar Dürr confirmed that neither Werbach itself nor the other municipalities, which merged 1973/1975, had proper flags.
