Meaning:
Salgen belonged to the Lordship of Mindelheim. The lion, also called leopard, is reminding on the Lords of Mindelberg, local rulers until 1363. The rosette is taken from the arms of the convent of the Benedictine Ottobeuren Imperial Abbey, which had possessions in the village since 1097. The blue base wavy is symbolising the location of the village in the valley of the Mindel.
