Description of coat of arms:
Shield Gules, divided by a bend sinister wavy Argent, in dexter chief a plough Or shared Argent, in sinister base an oak leaf Argent, twice acorned Or capsuled Argent.
Meaning:
The bend sinister wavy is representing today no longer existing Eiter Creek. The plough share was made of stone. The plough is representing the very early cultivation and colonisation of the area. The leaf is representing the many oaks around local farmhouses. Furthermore it is symbolizing the sedentariness of Lower Saxonian farmers. The draft of flags and arms was made by Horst Scheffler.
