Tribsees Coat of Arms

In a silver (=white) shield is a red wall, masoned black having three open (=white) gates. The wall is topped by three red towers. The central tower is embattled. Upon the pinnacles is a red demi-griffin issuant, armed golden, holding a rectangular pennant with three tails upon his head. The pennant is yellow with a blue statant lion, tongued red. The other towers are smaller and topped by triangular roofs, both topped by a ball.
Meaning:
Wall and towers are symbolising the status of a city. The griffin is symbolising, that the town belonged to the Dukes of Pomerania since 1325, definitively since 1354. The pennant is symbolising that the Princes of Rügen had been vassals of the Kings of Denmark from 1168 until 1438.
