The flag of Valsequillo de Gran Canaria is in proportions 2:3, diagonally divided per bend green over white. The municipal coat of arms is placed in the centre of the flag.
The coat of arms of Valsequillo de Gran Canaria is prescribed by Decree No. 3,224, adopted on 7 December 1973 by the Spanish Government and published on 1 January 1974 in the Spanish official gazette.
The coat of arms is described as follows:
Coat of arms: Or a dragon tree proper, a bordure azure inscribed with the motto "CON JUSTICIA Y CON HONOR" [With Justice and Honour] in letters argent. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown open. The shield supported by two Canarian Aborigines.
According to José Manuel Erbez (Banderas y escudos de Canarias, 2007; website), the tree is symbolizing the 700-year-old dragon tree growing on the municipal territory. The supporters are Tecén and his son, Niguada, who survived a massacre committed by Castilian troops in a sanctuary where the natives had taken shelter, located on the municipal territory.
