Presentation of Polícar

The municipality of Polícar (228 inhabitants in 2017; 534 ha; municipal website) is located 60 km north-east of Granada and 20 km south-east of Guadix.
Polícar was settled during the Lowe Roman Empire. During the Nasrid rule and after the Christian reconquest in 1489, the village depended on Beas de Guadix. For centuries, the land became to the very same family; the sale of this domain in 1977 and the share of the plots made in 2006 boosted the development of Polícar.
