Campanet (2,515 inhabitants; 3,500 ha) is located in the north-east of the island of Mallorca.

According to "Diario de Mallorca," 9 November 2007, the three political groups forming the Municipal Council of Campanet have decided to launch a study for the design of a municipal flag and a unique municipal coat of arms. Different versions of the coat of arms are currently in use, without any historical background.
