Symbols of Valdeprados

The flag and arms of Valdeprados, designed by Instituto Borbone de Heráldica Municipal, are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 20 December 2007 by the Municipal Council, signed on the same day by the Mayor, and published on 13 February 2008 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 30, p. 2,619 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Quadrangular flag, with proportions 1:1, divided into two equal vertical stripes, green at hoist and white at fly. In the middle of the flag is placed the municipal coat of arms, in full colors.
Coat of arms: 1. Vert a tower or chaussé or a star gules, 2. Gules an aqueduct argent on ten rocks of the same [Crown not mentioned].

The symbols were chosen by the Municipal Council among different proposals drafted by Instituto Borbone de Heráldica Municipal.
The green color represents the municipal toponymy, Valdeprados meaning "a valley [valle] with pastures [prados].
The tower represents the monument known as the Tower of the Puñonrostro Castle, named for lords of Valdeprados in the 16th century. The two red stars represent the two villages forming the municipality. The sinister part of the shield represents the Segovia Roman aqueduct (El Adelantado de Segovia, 12 March 2008).
