The flag of Arico, adopted on 29 April 2003 by the Municipal Council and validated on 29 June 2005 by the Heraldry Commission of the Canary Islands, is prescribed by a Decree adopted on 4 October 2005 by the Government of the Canary Islands and published on 13 October 2005 in the official gazette of the Canary Islands, No. 201, pp. 19,788-19,789 (text).
The flag is described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular panel [...], in proportions 2:3, tierced at hoist vert and the rest of the panel azure. In the middle is placed the municipal coat of arms.

According to José Manuel Erbez (Banderas y escudos de Canarias, 2007; website), the colours or the flagare the main colours of the coat of arms. Green represents the mountains and agriculture, while blue represents the coasts and fishing.

The coat of arms of Arico is prescribed by a Decree adopted on 22 May 1985 by the Government of the Canary Islands and published on 14 June 1985 in the official gazette of the Canary Islands, No. 71, p. 1,335 (text).
The coat of arms is described as follows:

Coat of arms: Per fess, 1. Vert a bee-hive or, 2. Azure an anchor argent. A bordure argent charged with four agricultural tools used to harrow the soil. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.

According to José Manuel Erbez (Banderas y escudos de Canarias, 2007; website), the bee-hive represents bee-keeping, a main activity in the municipality. The anchor represents the coasts and the beaches, while the tools used to harrow (aricar) stand for the origin of the name of the municipality.
