The flag of Agulo is prescribed by a Decree adopted on 27 May 2002 by the Government of the Canary Islands and published on 12 June 2002 in the official gazette of the Canary Islands, No. 79, pp. 10,109-10,110 (text). The flag was initially adopted on 13 September 2001 by the Municipal Council, as published on 28 September 2001 in the official gazette of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Province, No. 117, and validated on 30 January 2002 by the Heraldry Commission of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands.
The flag is described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular panel [...], whose length is 1.5 time the height. Blue with a yellow diagonal stripe running from the hoist's upper angle to the fly's lower angle, in height 1/5 of the flag's hoist. When the flag is charged with the municipal coat of arms, the arms should be placed in the middle of the flag.
The colours of the flag are the main colours of the municipal coat of arms.

Rationale. The most significant architectural monument of Agulo, the St. Mark parish church, is represented by the symbol of the evangelist, a winged lion. Or is the colour of the most important crop in the municipality, banana.
