Symbols of Buenaventura

The flag of Buenventura (photos) is prescribed by an Order issued on 9 March 1993 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and published on 17 March 1993 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 20, p. 1,378 (text).
The flag is described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular, in proportions 3:5, horizontally divided in three parts, the central twice wider, the upper, green, the intermediate, white, and the lower, blue. In the center of the white stripe is placed the municipal coat of arms.

The coat of arms of Buenaventura is prescribed by an Order issued on 10 December 1990 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and published on 19 December 1990 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 93, p. 3,659 (text).
The coat of arms is described as follows:

Coat of arms: Spanish shield. Per pale, 1. Or six roundels azure in pale 3 and 3, 2. Argent a holy oak eradicated vert the trunk sable. The shueld surmounted by a Royal crown closed.

The Town Hall is decorated with a stone coat of arms made of a shield fetauring three maize cobs in pale, surmounted by a helmet. The municipality has not been using this design, at least since the late 19th century, which indicated it was most probably a private coat of arms "converted" in an alleged municipal coat of arms.
