The municipality of Pantoja (3,238 inhabitantq in 2018 vs. 956 in 1950; municipal website) is located 40 km north-east of Toledo and 15 km south of Illescas.
Pantoja was re-settled by Mozarabs, either a Pantoja family from Toledo, or Pedro Ermíldez, a Portuguese knight who was granted the village by Alfonso VII and adopted its name.

The flag of Pantoja is prescribed by an Order issued on 22 April 1993 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and published on 30 April 1993 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 31, p. 2,199 (text).
The flag is described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular, in proportions 1:2, horizontally divided in two equal parts, the upper, yellow, and the lower, blue, with a green equilateral triangle placed along the hoist.
The coat of arms does not appeat to have been officially registered, although it was validated by the Royal Academy of History (Boletín de la Real Academia de la Historia 180:3, 604. 1983), as:
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Or a vase sable, 2. Azure a Mozarab cross argent. Grafted in base, vert a garb of spikes or. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
The coat of arms, designed by the historian, geographer, archeologist and writer Fernando Jiménez de Gregorio (1911-2012), was adopted on 27 August 1980 by the Municipal Council.
The first quarter represents pottery, a traditional industry in the town, today disappeared. The second quarter reflects the Mozarab influence of the town. The base quarter refers to grain cultivation as the axis of local economy.
