The flag and arms of Santa María de la Vega are prescribed by a Decree
adopted on 12 January 2006 by the Municipal Council, signed on 19 January 2006 by the
Mayor, and published on 30 January 2006 in the
official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 20, p. 1,709 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular flag, with proportions 2:3, made of two equal horizontal stripes, the upper stripe white and the lower stripe green, with twelve five-pointed stars arranged in a circle, blue in the white stripe and white in the green stripe.
Coat of arms: Per fess serrated of three pieces, 1. Argent twelve five- pointed stars azure in orle, 2. Vert two fesses wavy argent two fesses wavy azure. The shield surmuonted by a Royal crown closed.
