Presentation of Haute-Goulaine

The municipality of Haute-Goulaine (5,833 inhabitants in 2018; 2,059 ha) is located 10 km south-east of Nantes.
King Henry IV (r. 1589-1610) created the marquisate of Goulaine for Gabriel of Goulaine, husband of Margaret of Brittany. The castle of Goulaine can still be visited.
