founder Marie de St Pol dimidiated her father’s arms (de Chatillon: gules, three
pallets vair, on a chief or a label of three points azure) with those of her
husband, the Earl of Pembroke (de Valence: barrulée argent and azure, an orle of
martlets gules). See pp. 53 and 163, respectively.
