13 October 1933. The club was granted the title "Royal", and the badge on the ensign was changed to a crown above the arms of Gibraltar, and the defacement on the burgee to a crown above a red castle above a yellow key.

27 October 1837. Admiralty warrant permitting vessels of the club to wear White ensign and burgee.
22 July 1842. Warrant cancelled and replaced by a warrant "authorizing the vessels belonging to the club to wear the blue ensign of Her Majesty's fleet, with the distinguishing marks of the club". This was, presumably, a yellow castle above "G.Y.C." on the ensign, and a yellow castle in the centre of a white burgee with a blue St George's cross. These designs were illustrated when the club was first listed in the 1894 Lloyd's Yachting Register.
