Transient flag, arms and ceremonial flag of Opatija
The symbols of Opatija were first prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Grada Opatije, adopted on 3 August 1995 by the Town Assembly and published on 4 August 1995 in Službene novine Županije primorsko-goranske, No. 16. The proposed design was established by a six-member Commission set up by Decision Odluka o osnivanju i imenovanju članova Komisije za prijedlog izgleda grba i zastave Grada Opatije, adopted on 28 October 1993 by the Town Assembly and published on 8 November 1993 in Službene novine Županije primorsko-goranske, No. 13.
Images of the symbols are shown in Correction Ispravak Odluke o grbu i zastavi Grada Opatije, published on 18 September 1995 in Službene novine Županije primorsko-goranske, No. 19.
These early symbols have the bird looking sinister on the coat of arms. The further change in the bird was probably suggested by the Ministry of Administration.

Veprinac (Italian, Apriano; 853 inhabitants in 2001) is an old town established on the slopes of mount Uč:ka. The local community of Veprinac-Uč:ka covers the inlands, montainous territory ranging from 500 m apart the coast (above the urban coastal belt between Opatija and Ičići) to the tops of mount Uč:ka.
The flag hoisted on the town walls of Veprinac (photo is in the shape of a gonfalon, ending triangularly, horizontally divided into red and purplish-blue and with the white tower from the coat of arms in the centre. The flag has a golden ribbon along the outer edges and a golden fringe along the bottom, as well as three segments of the sleeve along the top.
Italian sources from the early 20th century show the historical coat of arms of Veprinac as "Azure a tower argent" (image, image).

Flag, arms, ceremonial flag
The coat of arms of Ičići is azure a sea-goat argent holding a trident or. A
sea-goat is a heraldic beast composed of a billy goat front and a fish tail. It
reprsents the two traditional industries of the place - the goat hearding and
fishing. It also cants the name of Kozji breg (= Goat Hill), a village outside
Ičići. The trident reinforces the link with the sea.
The flag is light
blue with the coat of arms bordered yellow in its centre. The ceremonial flag is
a light blue gonfalon ending triangularly with a golden fringe, the coat of arms
in its centre. Above it it is inscribed in two lines the name Ičići in Latin and
Glagolitic script, and below there are branches of olive and vine, the
traditional products of the region.
