The municipality of Andrijaševci (4,249 inhabitants in 2001, 2,165 in the village of Andrijaševci and 2,084 in the village of Rokovci) is located 10 km south of Vinkovci. It is said that in Andrijaševci are still living the descendants of the Croats living there before the Turkish conquest, who remained there during the occupation until the liberation in 1700 and ever afterwards, which is, indeed, remarkable for a Slavonian village.
Željko Heimer, 4 November 2007
The symbols of Andrijaševci are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Općine Andrijaševci, adopted on 28 May 1999 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 30 June 1999 in the County official gazette Službeni vjesnik Vukovarsko-srijemske županije, No. 6.
The symbols are described in the Statutory Decision amending Article 6 of the Municipality Statutes Statutarna odluka o izmjeni članka 6. Statuta Općine Andrijaševci, adopted on 28 May 1999 and published on 30 June 1999 in Službeni vjesnik Vukovarsko-srijemske županije, No. 6.
The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.
The flag is described as follows:
The flag of the Municipality of Andrijaševci is single colored, red, with a ratio of length to width of 2:1, following the Law. In the centre of the flag, at the crossing point of the diagonals is placed the coat of arms, bordered with a golden outline.
Beside the official flag, in exceptionally ceremonial occasions, a ceremonial flag may be used, which should be the same as the official flag, but may be, additionally, ornamented with golden embroidery and edges.

The coat of arms is described as follows:
The coat of arms of the Municipality of Andrijaševci is in a triangular shield shape with a white-silver field. In the shield is a black dog - Croatian shepherd, turned in a jump to the right, holding in its jaws a bread (golden-yellow colored).
The coat of arms is "Argent a hound rampant holding in its jaws a loaf of bread or".
The patron saint of Andrijaševci, as may be guessed from the place name, is St. Andrew, so one would expect to see the saltire (Andrew's cross) on the arms. However, the dog with a loaf of bread rather reminds St. Roch and the legend telling how he fed a starving dog from a sore he made on his leg, dipping bread in his blood (see for instance the arms of Drniš). St. Roch is indeed the patron saint of Rakovci, the second village in the municipality.

The ceremonial flag, also used as a table flag in a miniaturized version, is a red gonfalon with three triangularly ending tails containing oak ornaments, with the coat of arms in the middle and the name of the municipality above.

The first symbols of Andrijaševci are described in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Andrijaševci, adopted on 29 March 1994 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 2 May 1995 in Županije Službeni vjesnik Vukovarsko-srijemske, No. 4.
Vinkovački list, 29 October 1993, announced the public contest for the design of the symbols of Andrijaševci. It was required that the symbols of Rokovci and Andrijaševci are included, as well as "general Croatian elements and local specific elements"; the design should be "compatible" with the County symbols. The deadline was set to 15 days after the publication of the announcement, with 15 more days for the commission to publish the winners. The first prize was set to 500 DEM.
The flag is described as follows:
The flag of the municipality of Andrijaševci is 210 cm x 110 cm in size. The flag is diagonally divided into two equal parts, the right half being white (as seen from the flag), while the left half is golden-yellow. On the flag is the coat of arms set up 65 cm from the flag's top, 75 cm in height and 50 cm in width. The entire flag is surrounded with a fringe of 5 cm in length, while the coat of arms is printed in six colours.
The coat of arms is described as follows:
The coat of arms of the municipality of Andrijaševci is in a shield shape, above the shield is flying the Croatian tricolor under which is in the empty space the drawing of a marten.
On the light blue background in the top largest part of the arms, there is a smaller shield of the same shape as the outer shield. It contains a part of the Croatian arms with eight visible red-white fields.
Below, on a dark blue background is a part of the Gothic arch from the so-called Rokovačke zidine [Rokovac walls] (probably from the 14th century).
In the right side of the arms is the St. Andrew church in Andrijaševci and on the left the St. Roch church in Rokovci. The churches are set on a green background, representing the banks of river Bosut connected by a bridge, which always conected these two settlements.
In the lower part of the arms, on a dark blue background are a cart wheel, an oak leaf, an acorn and a wheat ear, characterizing the basic activities of the region.
The arms are printed in six colors.
