The symbols of Obrovac are described in the Town Statutes, adopted in 2009.
The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.
The flag is in proportions 1:2, "indigo blue" with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms is "Gules a goat rampant argent next to a hornbeam eradicated vert fructed or".
The hornbeam (Carpinus betulus) is native to the region. Goats were traditionally herded in the region of sparse vegetation among which the hornbeam is noticeable.

The ceremonial flag (photo) is a blue gonfalon with three triangularly ending tails with golden ornaments (details unknown), with the coat of arms in the centre and the name of the town above.
The table flag (photo) is somewhat different - being rectangular with triangular ending (pentagonal) and ornaments arranged differently.
