Presentation of Stupnik

The municipality of Stupnik (3,868 inhabitants in 2011) was formed in 1995 by parts of the town of Zagreb. Being close to Zagreb, and yet not affected by the higher taxes there, and also several important highways from Zagreb towards coast passing through it, it is a prosperous small new municipality.
This is one of those few municipalities in Croatia that have their administrative seat in a settlement of a different name than the municipality iself - in this case the village is Gornji Stupnik (1,444 inh.).

The symbols are described in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Stupnik, adopted on 13 December 2001 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 24 December 2001 in Glasnik Zagrebačke Županije, No. 24. This is repeated in the Stautes Statut Općine Stupnik, adopted on 26 January 2006 and published on 3 February 2006 in Glasnik Zagrebačka županije, No. 2, and in the current Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Stupnik, adopted on 14 July 2009 and published on 17 July 2009 in Glasnik Zagrebačka županije, No. 16.

The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.

The flag is described in Article 8 of the Decision, as follows:

The flag is of a single colour, dark blue with the coat of arms, in the centre, at the crossing point of the diagonals, on both sides. The ceremonial version of the rectangular official flag may have along the edges a golden fringe and bordering golden-yellow ribbons, on both sides.
