Tripura was a powerful principality from the 15th century on, until it was
invaded by Muslim forces from Bengal. The mountainous area of Tipperah Hills
regained independence in 1625, with some English protection; part of it became
British in 1765. The state measured 10.500 sq km, with c. 400.000 inhabitants.
Tripura's Maharadah's flag was vertical purple and gold, with in the center the
state emblem in a white disk; proportions 3:1. Source:

The principality of Tripura has a rectangular flag with two equally wide
vertical stripes - red and yellow, with in the center a white disk with the arms
of the Sovereign.
