The Flag

The flag of the city of Kitakami is white with mark.

The city emblem was adopted on Jul 11th 1991 by Notice No 87 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a blue and a green two color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized kanji 北 Kita of Kitakami. It represents a wish for a development of the city enveloped with water,green trees and an uplifting feeling.
