The town emblem was adopted on Jul 1st 2005 by Notice No 358 but there is no
flag law. The white flag has a green and a blue two color town emblem in the
center. The town emblem is a stylized kanji 宝 Ho of Hodatsushimizu. The green
color stands for an abundant nature and the blue color for a fresh stream
infiltrating the town, waves of Japan Sea and progressive people. As a whole, it
represents an image of the town where the water and the people play a good
harmony.
