The city emblem was adopted on Feb 1st 2005 by Ordinance No 2 but there is no
flag law. The white flag has a blue, a light blue and a green three color city
emblem in the center. The oblong symbolizes an image of the city which is
nurtured by an abundant nature and continues to develop to the furture and the
center part does an abundant green Mt. Hakusan towering in a blue sky.
Beneath of it there are three curved lines. The upper one stands for Tedori
River and the middle and lower ones for Japan Sea.
