Located in Narashino City Chiba Prefecture and established in 1942.
The embroidered ceremonial flag has purplish blue background with a gold-colored emblem in gold fringe.
The institute flag has purplish blue background with a white emblem and white kanji institute name written vertically.
The institute emblem was adopted in 1942, shortly after the founding of the institute, through public solicitation.
In 1992, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding, the faculty of the Department of Industrial Design (now the Department of Design Science) measured and balanced the details, and the trademark was registered. The "工" and "大" form the heaven and earth, with the "大" supporting the "工" with its four legs. The head of the "大" is slightly incorporated into the "工" to give stability.
